Machining
Machining is the process in which steel and other metals are cut or threaded to a desired shape. Threads and turning can be performed to bolts and forgings on either a conventional lathe or a CNC lathe. Bolts can be threaded up to and beyond three inches in diameter and 1200mm in length. Milling and drilling can also be performed.
Conventional turning rotates the pieces to be machined along a central axis while cutting the desired threads or shape. CNC or computer numerical controlled, lathes are programmed to automatically thread bolts and forgings to the specifications required. Machining can be performed on stainless steel, mild steel, and most other materials.
